Summer, Summer, Summertime

Okay those of you that read our blog at work are probably cussing me right now. I just had to attach this song. It is one of my all time favorite songs. We listened to it in college all of the time (I'm showing my age). Anyways I am just planning to have the song on for this post and then I will remove it.......maybe I'll add another and maybe I won't. Feel free to hit your mute button if you're not a Fresh Prince fan!!! I couldn't resist dressing Audrey and Paul in matching outfits for our friend's wedding. Aren't they the cutest!!!!!!
We made a trip to Warsaw to visit my Grandma. The kids love going to great-grandma's in the summer. She has a big neat, property that the kids can go exploring on. We had just watch the Bridge to Terabithia the week before and Natalie was imagining that she and Emily were in the movie. Andrew had went fishing with great-aunt Kathy. Kathy sent us home with all kinds of goodies from her garden. We had so many cucumbers that we made freezer pickles when we got home. Yum..yum.
Just like the other kids, Paul loves ridding the go-cart. This was his first time of driving it. The look of pure happiness on his face was priceless.
Today we took cousin Kyle to Science Central with us for Andrew's birthday. As Natalie was peddling so was her new friend.
Kyle and Andrew learn the value of the pulley as they lift this heavy beam with ease.

It's hard to believe how fast the summer is going by. It's really hard to believe that Andrew will be 9 years old tomorrow. It seems like just yesterday that Ted and I were on the way to the hospital while I was in active labor and he decided to stop and get gas. Oh...the things that we wives never forget. Andrew weighed in at a whopping 9lb. 7 oz. He was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes on.

My first true love

Andrew has been at church camp all week. I can't believe that he will be 9 in just 2 weeks. This kid has kept us hopping....both good and bad. I just love this picture of him. It was taken the summer between Luke and Natalie's births, which was truly the most miserable time in my life. This sweet smile was what helped me through it all. I can't wait to wrap my arms around him and give him a big hug and a kiss tomorrow!!!!

Children's Hope Ohio picnic

This one is for my friend Wendy. Has anyone ever seen such a cute one-handed Chinese cowboy........I think not!!
Audrey has a "thing" for horses this year so she was thrilled to go on a pony ride. She thought she was big stuff!!
My niece Taylor has a lot to be smiling about. Soon she is going to have a new little sister from China!
The big kids had fun too.On Saturday our family and my brother Troy's family went to Marmon Valley Farms for CHI's Ohio family picnic. CHI is the agency we used for Audrey's adoption. Troy and Sarah are now using them to bring their next child home from China.

Paul and AiWen meet again

Well we finally got together with AiWen's family. We traveled with them during Paul's adoption trip. They only live 30 minutes from us......but life has been a little busy for both us and AiWen's family. Both Paul and AiWen came into their new families as the 4th child. We had such a good visit that we vowed to get together more often!!!!! AiWen is just one month older than Audrey. Audrey was being very grumpy when it was time for picture taking, so she is off in another room pouting. The summer is just flying past us. We took Andrew and Natalie to Kings Island last week. They had a blast!!! Natalie was even tall enough to ride most of the big rides. We are sooo close to having our paper work done for our "big news."

Paul's 15 minutes of fame

About a month ago Half the Sky contacted me letting me know that was going to be in their quarterly newsletter. The asked for a recent picture of him. They must have got the picture on the left from his HTS report, we sent the photo on the right. We were thrilled to receive the newsletter over the weekend. Paul along with seven other kids who were in various HTS programs had home updates. I continue to sing the praises of what Half the Sky does for the orphans of China. I pray that someday they will make their way to Audrey's orphanage.
